These photographs came about as a result of a project I did to illustrate a musical composition I wrote after seeing a Barn Owl. I was so moved by the experience that I felt I had to compose a piece of music about the encounter. Later on, I decided to take some photographs to go with the music, which materialised into a short film involving the still images. The photographs of the owl were taken at Bird World, and that allowed me to get really close to the bird, which would have been extremely difficult for me to do in the wild. It was a real privilege for me to get this close to such a beautiful bird of God’s creation.
